Today was my 3rd session with Hypoxi. For those of you who don’t know, Hypoxi is a specialised clinic that helps people to loose fat, cellulite or tone specific areas of their body. For most women this is their lower half, I am no exception. I may be a model, I may be 6ft tall (basically), but I still store more weight on my hips than anywhere else so I signed up to this treatment to see if I could do something about it.
The first thing that Dajana did when I arrived was talk me through everything, how the machine works, how I should look after my diet once I’ve completed the exercises and answered any questions I had. Then on to the measuring! Now, I find all things to do with my body and health fascinating, of course aesthetics are a part of my job but I also want to know if I am healthy and doing a good job at looking after this body of mine.
Dajana asked me to stand on what looked like some scales with metal feet pads and hold on to the hand dooby majiggy’s and not move for a minute. The results from this alone were awesome, I have included a copy of mine so you can see what I found out. To be honest I think everybody should sign up for a session just to get this sheet!
After all that is done they put you in a half-suit thing (what is pictured as the thumbnail) and lock you in to one of the machines they have. I liked the lying down cycle machine - let me just clarify that I have never done half an hour of cycling at the gym, this was very different to the usual resistance bikes. Once strapped in you begin your 30 minute workout with a strange vacuum pulling you in and releasing you for 15 seconds at a time. This is what increases blood flow to the lower body and helps target those specific fatty areas.
I was remeasured before my 3rd session and had already lost 1cm off each thigh and my hips AND half a cm off my waist. Normally I would say there must have been another reason for the size reduction but I am already a healthy eater, I already workout regularly and overall I gained 0.5kg between weigh-ins. This combined leads me to believe nothing other than it must work!
I have been invited back in the New Year to try the ‘advanced’ session. Looking forward to burning off all the Christmas booze!
